An elderly man sustained serious head injuries after burglars broke into his house in Rialto, Dublin, early this morning.
The man (69) was found lying on the ground by emergency services at around 1.30am.
He was taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment where his condition is described as not life-threatening.
Gardai investigating the incident have arrested a man (23) in connection with the burglary and assault. He is due in court today.
