Man is his 30s hospitalised after phone stolen in incident in Dublin in early hours

Gardaí have arrested a teenager in connection with the stabbing of a man during a phone theft in Temple Bar in Dublin early on Saturday morning.

A man in his early 30s was stabbed by a number of youths and his phone was taken at Crane Lane, Dublin 2, at around 3.30am.

A taxi driver assisted the injured man and took him to St James’s Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries. Gardaí said his injuries were not life threatening.

A description of the culprits was circulated to gardaí and an arrest was made a short time later. The phone was recovered when the arrest was made.

The teenager was detained at Pearse Street Garda station, under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
