Heroin and cannabis worth an estimated €95,000 have been seized by gardaí following a planned raid on Dublin city premises.
Officers from the Kevin Street drug unit and the South Central taskforce carried out the operation at an address in Oliver Bond House early this morning.
Heroin valued at about €90,000 was seized and a man in his late twenties was arrested.
The man is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at Kevin Street Garda station.
Follow-up search
In a follow-up search of another residence at the same address, cannabis with an estimated street value of €5,000 was seized and a second man, aged in his thirties, was arrested.
He was taken to Kilmainham Garda station but was later released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
“These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks,” gardaí said in a statement.
