Man arrested after pharmacist stabbed in Drogheda shop

Victim in serious condition in hospital after incident in chemist on Scarlet Street

A pharmacist is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in a shop Drogheda on Tuesday.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The attack took place at a chemist on Scarlet Street in the Co Louth town at around 8.30am.

A man in his 30s was arrested close to the pharmacy, and is being held in Dundalk Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital suffering from stab wounds and is still in a serious condition.
