A man has died after being assaulted in Navan, Co Meath, on Thursday afternoon.
Christopher Nevin was seriously injured in an altercation with a number of males at about 2.15pm at Tailtean Road, Winetown, Navan.
The 27-year-old was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he died on Friday.
The males got into a silver car which drove off in the direction of the town centre.
A postmortem will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, on Saturday.
Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was on the Tailtean Road or in the vicinity of Winetown between 1.50pm and 2.30pm on Thursday or anyone who may have any information to contact them on 046 9079930, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
