One man has died and a second man is in a critical condition after a two car collision in Co Cork on Tuesday evening.
The crash happened at Leemount Cross on the R618 Cork to Ballincollig Road.
A car in which five men in their early 20s were travelling collided with a second vehicle in which two women in their late 20s were travelling.
One of the men, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the vehicle was taken to Cork University Hospital.
The three other men and the two women were also taken to the hospital but their injuries were not thought to be serious.
The road was closed at the scene on Tuesday night while Garda forensic collision investigators carried out an examination.
The stretch is not expected to re-open before mid-day on Wednesday, gardaí said.
