Gardaí investigating the murder of a mother and her daughter in Killorglin Co Kerry arrested a man this morning in connection with their deaths.

The man, who is in his 40s, is being held on suspicion of withholding information about the murder of Jolanta Lubiene (27) and her daughter Enrika (8) at their home in Killorglin.

The mother and daughter were found stabbed to death in Langford Downs in the town last Sunday night.

The man was arrested under the provision of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act which allows suspects to be held for up to seven days.
