Man in his 20s dies after hit-and-run in Co Meath

A man his 20s has died after a hit-and-run incident on the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road in Co Meath on Thursday evening.

The male pedestrian was found with fatal injuries at the side of the road at about 8.50pm after he was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the incident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan.

The area where the incident occurred on the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigations and local diversions are in place.
