Man released without charge over Lough Sheelin murders

A man in his 50s who was arrested in Co Meath on Wednesday morning in connection with the murders of Eoin O'Connor and Anthony Keegan last May has been released without charge.

The bodies of the men were discovered on an island in Lough Sheelin, Co Meath on May 26th. They had been shot dead.

The men had not been seen for a month before their bodies were found.

The man arrested today is the third in relation to the investigation. He is being held under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Kells Garda Station.
