A man in his 20s was shot in the arm and leg in Clondalkin, west Dublin, on Monday night.
He was taken to Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment.
The man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, according to the Garda press office.
The shooting occurred at Shancastle Drive at about 9pm and gardaí at Ronanstown are investigating.
It is understood a car pulled up outside the house before an occupant got out and shot the man.
The car was then driven off towards the M50 motorway.
The scene was sealed off pending a forensic examination. Garda are appealing for any witnesses to contact Ronanstown station at 01-6667700 or the confidential line at 1800 666111.
