Second man dies after Limerick road crash

23-year-old driver dies of his injuries two days after death of 28-year-old passenger

The driver of a car involved in a fatal collision in Limerick on Tuesday has died in hospital.

The 23 year old man been seriously injured in the crash, and was pronouced dead at University Hospital, Limerick this evening.

A 28 year old male passenger in the car had been pronounced dead shortly after the collision.

Investigating gardaí­ are renewing their appeal for information in relation to the crash on Hyde Road, Limerick.

The collision between the car and a van occurred at approximately 7.30pm on Tuesday evening.

The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, and his passenger, a 5-year-old girl, were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the crash.
