A two-car crash in Co Meath resulted in seven people being taken to hospital, though none of those hospitalised suffered life-threatening injuries.
The drivers crashed on the N52 at Cassidy's Cross, Carlanstown, Co Meath, at about 7.30pm on Sunday, January 2nd.
Gardaí said two men and two women, aged in their 70s and 80s, as well as a man and woman in their 40s and a child were all taken to hospital from the scene.
The seven injured people underwent treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co Louth, though gardaí said their injuries were not life-threatening.
The road where the crash occurred was closed for a period to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators before being reopened. The crash investigation was continuing.
