A man has escaped an apparent murder bid following a shooting in Cookstown.

A shotgun was used to fire two shots through a living room window at the property in the Tullyveagh Road area early on Tuesday, police said.

A man aged 45 was in the Co Tyrone house at the time but was uninjured.

Det Constable Paula McGale appealed for anyone with information to contact the PSNI.
