Three men arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Dublin last May have been released without charge.
Karl Wynne (45) was shot while sitting out at St Dominic's Shopping Centre in Tallaght on May 30th when two men on a motorbike pulled up. One of the men opened fire and wounded the victim before they fled the scene. Wynne died in hospital some six weeks later.
Two men aged in their 20s were arrested in the Finglas yesterday morning and a man (31) was later arrested in Co Laois. They were the first people to be detained in connection with the killing.
They were released last night. A Garda spokesman said a file on the matter was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The victim, a convicted armed robber, was from Finglas and had been known to gardaí for more than two decades. He had served a number of prison sentences. His death was linked to a shooting at a gym in Finglas about two weeks before he was targetted.
