Gardaí are seeking three males in connection with an aggravated burglary in Co Wicklow this week in which a man in his late 80s was assaulted.

The incident happened at Ballynultagh, Shillelagh, Co Wicklow on Wednesday when three men entered a house at about 9.10pm.

A man in his late 80s was on his own in the house at the time. He was assaulted a number of times with what gardaí said they believe was an iron bar.

The man was threatened and a demand for cash was made. A sum of cash and jewellery was taken in the burglary.

The three raiders were described as being of average height, two of slim build and one of stocky build and all in their 20’s to 30’s and all had their faces covered.

The injured man is currently in hospital where is condition is described as stable.
