Two men have been arrested after an armed robbery at a shopping centre in Dublin.
A Garda spokesman said the men, aged 28 and 29, were held after the incident at Clare Hall at about 10.30am this morning.
One man approached and threatened a CIT employee to hand over a cash box.
He was believed to be in possession of a firearm, the spokesman said.
The culprit fled the scene in a waiting car which drove towards the Malahide road.
The Garda spokesman said gardai received a call that men were acting suspiciously on the N32.
Gardaí went to the scene and after a brief search they arrested two males who were detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
They are being held at Coolock Garda station.
Armed gardaí, the Garda dog unit and the Garda helicopter were used during the operation.
The cash box and all the cash was recovered and the firearm was also discovered close by.
A burnt out car similar to the one used in the robbery was located a short time later, the Garda spokesman added.
