Two people seriously injured in Galway crash, driver of second vehicle leaves scene

Two people have been seriously injured following a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle in Co Galway early on Sunday.

The injured people, a man in his 50s, and the pillion passenger, a woman aged in her 30s, were taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment for serious injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, failed to remain at the scene, gardaí said.

The collision happened in Loughrea just after 2am.

A technical examination of the scene is underway and local diversions are in place.
