The Government is expected to make a decision tomorrow on whether planning restrictions should be changed to allow Swedish furniture company Ikea to open an Irish store.
According to reports from RTE, the company is looking at opening a store in Ballymun and wants an increase on the size limits on superstores. It is reported that the new store would create 500 jobs.
The Minister for the Environment, Mr Roche, is said to be in favour of changing the planning restrictions, and has warned that Ikea may choose to open in Northern Ireland if it cannot develop a store south of the border.
