Athens - Fourteen British and Dutch plane-spotters accused of spying for allegedly photographing a Greek airbase had their hopes for immediate release dashed yesterday when a court delayed a decision for at least another day.

The group, at the centre of an embarrassing diplomatic stand off between Britain and Greece, are waiting to hear whether they are to be freed or face trial.

They have now been in custody for more than a month.
