The delays at Dublin Airport, caused by enhanced security measures, seem to have been curtailed today.

The airport has put an extra 20 security staff on roster for duty and a Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) spokesperson told ireland.comthat another 40 were in training. They also confirmed that the queue to get through security was at around 20 minutes at the peak times and the problem with passengers missing flights had been alleviated.

DAA said passengers were heeding advice which also helped to shorten queues. It is recommended tha passengers remove all sharp objects from their hand luggage and take only one small piece of luggage on board.

The screening of passengers and their carry-on baggage has been stepped up at Dublin airport following the identification of major lapses in an official audit which saw knives and a replica bomb being smuggled through security checks.
