ZIMBABWE: Zimbabwe's High Court suspended a government deportation order against an American journalist yesterday, referring the matter to the Supreme Court.
The High Court said Andrew Meldrum, the Zimbabwe correspondent of Britain's Guardian newspaper, had the right to argue that his rights were being violated by the deportation order.
Meldrum was acquitted earlier this week of publishing falsehoods under media laws, but President Mugabe's government ordered his expulsion.
