A Co Carlow house owned by the family of a 19th Century British prime minister could fetch up to €6 million at auction, it emerged today.
Beechy Park near Rathvilly village was owned by Benjamin Disraeli, the uncle of the Tory party leader of the same name who served two terms in office.

The Georgian mansion, which sits on a 224-acre estate, has already attracted the interest of wealthy business people and local farmers.
Robert Corrigan of joint agent Browne Corrigan said: "We've had up to 20 viewings so far - mostly bloodstock industry figures.
"The three-storey over basement property also includes a sizeable block of land which is very appealing to farmers."
The nine-bedroom residence comes with a courtyard, stables, a walled garden and assorted farm buildings.
The property was originally purchased for the equivalent of €30,000 in the mid-1800s.
It is 18km from Carlow town and 80km from Dublin.
The property will be auctioned at the Dublin offices of Knight Frank on February 27th.
