Garda sub aqua divers searching for the murder weapon used in the killing of a Sri Lankan woman, Ms Belinda Pereira, yesterday discovered the body of a man in the Liffey.

Gardai last night named the man as Mr John Byrne (51), of Henrietta Street, in the north inner city. Mr Byrne, who was single, lived alone with his mother. He had been missing for a few days. Gardai said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
