Donegal manager Brian McIvor has dropped Kevin Cassidy and Eamon McGee for disciplinary reasons ahead of this weekend's NFL Division 2 final against Louth.
It is not the first such incident to occur within Donegal football in recent years, with McGee himself being suspended two years ago by then manager Brian McEniff, for allegedly being unfit to train after defeat to Armagh in the Ulster final.
Donegal officials today did not comment on the nature of the breach of discipline, but it is believed the manager's decision has the backing of the board.
Last week veteran defender Shane Carr quit the squad because of his frustration with lack of discipline within the set-up.
Donegal's preparations for the game have been difficult enough so far with the news that injury will force Karl lacy out of Sunday's final.
The absence of All-Star Cassidy on the field is also likely to be blow after his man-of-the-match performance against Westmeath last weekend.
