Gay Byrne, the chairman of the new Road Safety Authority, yesterday drew attention to a Today FM drink-driving advertisement, describing it as "an extremely strong commercial". It has also been praised by Minister for Transport Martin Cullen.

The Ray D'Arcy Show asked advertising agency Cawley Nea to create four ads discouraging drink-driving. The Funeral starts with Jason giving a eulogy for his friend Dean: "First I'd like to thank you all for coming here today and I'd like to thank the ambulance service and medical staff for their help on the night Dean died. Dean was a good friend as anyone who knew him knows and always a great laugh . . .

"This is b****cks. You know what? He was an idiot. We all told him he was too pissed to drive and it wasn't the first time. He was selfish driving Tracey home that night. We tried to take his keys from him but you couldn't talk to the guy. If he wanted to kill himself, fine, let him, but Tracey didn't deserve to die."

The voice-over then says: "Come on, don't be a f**cking eejit. Don't drink and drive."
