The drugs were found in the grounds of Archbishop McQuaid National School in Loughlinstown, Dún Laoghaire by the Drugs Unit after a surveillance operation.

A sawn-off shotgun and rounds of amunition were also found hidden in a hedge in the school grounds.

Three men were arrested - two in their 40s and one in his teens. The two older men were released without charge and files are to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A 19-year-old man later appeared in court charged in connection with the find.
