Drugs worth €220,000 seized in Drogheda

Gardai have seized drugs with an estimated value of €220,000 in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Gardai have seized drugs with an estimated value of €220,000 in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The drugs were found during a planned search by officers of an apartment on Dyer Street in the town this afternoon.

Approximately 13,300 ecstasy tablets and a quantity of cocaine were seized during the search, gardai said.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and taken to Drogheda Garda Station. He is due to appear at a special sitting of Ardee District tonight where he will be charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977.
