DSG Retail Ireland said today it will create 100 jobs as it opens new stores and unveils a new format for its stores this year.
The company, which trades as PC World and Currys in Ireland, said it will announce details of where the new stores will be located later this year.
The company is also planning to change its current store format into a "two in one" type, similar to what the company has rolled out in the UK and Italy. The new format will see Currys and PC World brands combined under one roof.
The firm is also planning refurbishment of stores in Galway and Limerick.
It said no existing jobs would be affected by its development plans, despite the close proximity of some of PC World and Currys stores.
Managing director of DSG Retail Ireland Declan Ronayne said the company had proved itself by trading successfully in a very tough economic environment.
"We're a dynamic company and our focus is on the big picture," he said. "We have a busy 18 months ahead and look forward to updating customers as we implement our plans."
