Moscow - Russian members of parliament, under heavy pressure from President Boris Yeltsin, gave a reluctant nod yesterday to the government's austerity plans aimed at rescuing the economy. But the State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, also criticised the two-month-old government's general economic strategy and urged ministers to consult the chamber more often.
