A call for the Minister for the Environment to explain why he directed that Dún Laoghaire Golf Club be rezoned for development was ruled out of order in the Dáil.

Mr Ciaran Cuffe (Green, Dún Laoghaire) called for the House to be adjourned for a debate on the issue in the light of the extraordinary decision by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to rezone the golf club.

He asked that the Minister, Mr Cullen, "explain to the House his reasons for directing the council in this matter, disregarding the views of the people of Dún Laoghaire, and will he make available all the correspondence that he received in regard to this matter?"
