Near the eastern coast of Hibernia, Dunshaughlin shines as the kingdom’s paragon of virtue among all the other human settlements. The people of Dunshaughlin are united by their common goal to disseminate benevolence and justice for the betterment of all living things throughout Hibernia. Life in Dunshaughlin, however, isn’t one of peaceful utopian dreams.
Its placid people must resist the awful power of the State Exams Commission, a hungry military machine intent on destroying their way of life.
Expertise
Despite what my mother would have you believe my expertise at League of Legends has helped me during these exams. Playing this game has built up my vocabulary, helped me with character and plot development and provided a few useless facts along the way.
I have carved out a life that allows for high-level gaming and Irish grammar, as well as playing some bass guitar, wearing some clothes and sleeping, too. It’s another trick I’ve learned from games: zoning. My room is divided into four zones: study, sleep, clothes and music. Our kitchen is zoned into a dining area and Aaron’s gaming area. My parents are remarkably tolerant. They mostly leave me to my own devices – desktop and handheld.
I have defeated most of what the SEC has been able to throw at me and I now have only three exams left: German, physics and chemistry. I love German so I’m not too worried about that. Although the little matter of my cousin’s wedding tomorrow may prove a setback if I don’t stick to my plan and flee before the stroke of midnight.
Otherwise, everything is running smoothly – I even had a hot streak during geography on Monday and wrote enough material on geo-ecology to constitute a small novel.
Not being a big fan of Irish, the best I can say is that I got in and out fairly quickly.
Great effort
I must mention our principal Shane Foley. He has really made a great effort to ease us through this advanced level of the game. When I went in this morning everyone was sitting around sipping coffee in a specially-appointed exam student room, complete with microwave. This, combined with the suspension of the school uniform rules (forever!!) meant everyone was well-armed for Irish.
I think I've done enough now to deserve a little game time before I turn to the science books. League of Legends is calling – goodbye Dunshaughlin and the SEC, hello Demacia and the equally terrible army of Noxus. Oh hang on, I think I left my helmet in the exam hall . . .
