TCD Lecture on Theory of Evolution

Today, TCD's School of Religions and Theology presents a lecture by Prof Michael Ruse on the topic Is Darwinism An Exhausted Paradigm?

Prof Ruse is the Lucyle T Werkmeister professor of philosophy at Florida State University, where he also directs the programme in the history and philosophy of science. He is author of The Evolution-Creation Struggle, Monad to Man, and other studies of the historical and philosophical dimensions of Darwinism. Symposium at DCU School of Nursing

The School of Nursing, Dublin City University, presents a symposium on Innovation in Healthcare: Present Opportunities and Strategic Partnering between Ireland and Finland tomorrow from 9.30am to 5.15pm.

Chemistry Lecture by Dr Mary Archer at Athlone Institute of Technology

Dr Mary Archer will give a lecture entitled Chemistry for the Good Life in the Department of nursing and health science, East Campus, Athlone Institute of Technology at 4pm on Thursday, April 26th. The lecture is organised in conjunction with the Institute of Chemistry of Ireland.

National Maritime College of Ireland Career Guidance Day

The National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI), in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork is hosting a career guidance day on Thursday, April 26th.

The day has been arranged to update and inform career advisers and transition-year teachers of the career opportunities available within the maritime industry. It will also be an opportunity to see, first-hand, the teaching resources and simulation facilities at the college.

Talk on Dyslexia in Tallaght

The theme of a talk and presentation at the Cluas centre in Tallaght, Co Dublin at noon on Saturday, April 28th is Dyslexia, Specific Learning Difficulties and Auditory Processing. Visitors are welcome at Cluas between 10am and 2pm, when interested parents and teachers can view the centre's facilities and meet staff.

Concert by the Maynooth University Chamber Choir and the Camille String Ensemble

The Maynooth University Chamber Choir and the Camille String Ensemble present Dixit Dominus by George Frederic Handel and music for Holy Week and Easter in St Mary's Parish Church, Maynooth, Co Kildare, on Sunday, April 29th at 8pm. Directed by David Connolly, tickets are €10 and €5.
