The woman in her seventies was knocked down and seriously injured by a car on Hidepark Road, Glengormley at about 4 p.m.

She was taken to hospital where she is suffering from serious leg injuries, the PSNI said.

The incident was witnessed by workers on a nearby construction site who saw the green Citroen ZX hit the woman and the speed off.
