The emergency services have again been targeted as the unrest continues in Northern Ireland.

The ambulance crew was attacked on the Stewartstown Road in West Belfast as they transferred an elderly patient to hospital. A bottle was thrown through the side window of the vehicle. The driver was admitted to hospital.

Elsewhere a train driver was treated for injuries after a brick smashed through the window of the Dublin train near Lurgan.

Police are also investigating a fire which they say was started maliciously at a Catholic school in East Belfast overnight.

The fire was discovered around 1.a.m at Our Lady and St. Patrick's College at Kingsway Gardens. Police say flammable liquid was used to start the blaze.
