Heroin worth an estimated €80,000 has been seized by gardaí in Co Kildare.
A Garda statement said gardaí from Ronanstown carried out a "planned operation" at 9pm last night at Martinstown, the Curragh, Co Kildare.
Gardaí became involved in a stand-off during the search operation when a man barricaded hiself into the house overnight, producing a slash hook and a container of petrol.
However, he was arrested this morning when he surrendered himself to gardaí shortly after 8am.

The man in his 40s has been charged with assaulting a garda under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
A woman (19) and a man (31) are also being detained at Naas Garda station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
