Gardaí are investigating an arson attack which has caused serious damage to the Offices of the Probation and Welfare Service in Navan, Co Meath.
The fire broke out at around 10.30 p.m. last night.
A Garda statement said the premises on the Kells Road was unoccupied at the time and appeared to have been broken into just before the fire started.
"Considerable damage was caused to the premises and fire units from Navan and Kells were called to the scene to deal with the fire," the Garda said.
Gardaí are treating the fire as arson and have appealed to anyone who was in the Kells Road area of the town between 9 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. last night and who saw any unusual or suspicious activity to contact them at Navan Garda station on 046-9079930 or on the Garda Confidential Line, 1800-666111.
The scene is sealed off for a technical examination.
