Gardaí seize drugs worth €430,000

Gardaí have said the street value of drugs found in a seizure in Co Meath yesterday was about €430,000.

Gardaí have said the street value of drugs found in a seizure in Co Meath yesterday was about €430,000.

Gardaí from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Garda National Drugs Unit seized 6kgs of a substance which, subject to forensic analysis, is believed to be cocaine.

Two men in their mid-30s were arrested in relation to the find at a house in Donacarney. The men were being detained at Drogheda Garda station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act yesterday.

In a follow-up operation, a car was stopped nearby and a small amount of cocaine was found.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
