Berlin - President Roman Herzog of Germany called yesterday on his country to support its Jewish community and multiculturalism, in the face of rising anti-immigrant sentiment.
Mr Herzog - who was accepting an award for his work in rebuilding Jewish-German relations from President Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland and the German Jewish leader, Mr Ignatz Bubis - attacked anti-foreigner policies.
