Father critical of ‘endless’ review into maternity services

A father who lost two babies at Portiuncula Hospital is describing as 'endless' the ongoing review into maternity services.

Warren Reilly from Loughrea, Co Galway told Midlands 103 that interviews with parents will have to be repeated after new investigators were assigned to the process.

The review, which involves 18 cases, started in March 2015 and was expected to be completed within five months.

Mr Reilly says there is no end in sight.

“It seems like an endless process. The next step is a detailed chronology of notes, so it will be some time before we get the final report.”
