The North's Department of Health in its daily afternoon bulletin on Thursday has reported four more Covid-19 deaths, taking the Northern Ireland death toll from the disease since the start of the pandemic to 2,332.
There were 46 Covid-19 deaths in the North in the past seven days, and 41 deaths in the previous week. Currently the Northern Ireland Covid-19 death rate is running between seven and 10 times that of the Republic.
With Covid-19 case rates in Northern Ireland currently the highest in Ireland and Britain, there were 1,550 new positive cases recorded in Thursday’s bulletin. There were 11,642 new cases in the past seven days in the North.
There are now 376 patients receiving coronavirus treatment in Northern Ireland’s hospitals, with 41 of them in intensive care and 26 on ventilators.
Hospital bed occupancy is at 103 per cent.
