Six allegations of professional misconduct against a doctor have been withdrawn at a Medical Council fitness to practice inquiry continuing today.
The accused, known only as Dr A, was called before the committee following the death of Vicki Core (20) in 2007.
She was diagnosed with gastric flu but died the following day from what is believed to have been community acquired bronchial pneumonia.
Dr A had initially faced 11 allegations of professional misconduct but six, including failure to procure her medical history and failure to refer her to hospital, were withdrawn this afternoon.
The committee is currently considering an application from barrister Ciaran Craven, representing Dr A, to have the remaining five charges struck out.
