What is claimed to be the biggest stamp exhibition ever to be held in Ireland begins today in the RDS Concert Hall in Dublin.
Stampa '97 features an envelope of 1847 with a rare Mauritius one penny red stamp, valued at £1 million. Other rarities on display include a collection of Irish issues of 1922 valued at £100,000 and the Edward VII sixpenny "Inland Revenue" block of four, which is valued at £250,000.
