Man arrested after cannabis seizure

Gardaí have seized cannabis with a street value of €200,000 and arrested a man as part of an ongoing investigation into the drug's cultivation in the southeast.

Officers made the arrest after raiding a home in Ballon, Co Carlow, between Carlow town and Bunclody, Co Wexford. They also conducted searches in other homes.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested and is being detained under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Carlow Garda station.

Search for missing man in Donegal

An extensive search has been launched for an angler who has been missing from his home since Sunday evening.

The man, in his 40s, was last seen in Glenties, Co Donegal.

Members of Donegal Mountain Rescue, gardaí and dozens of locals concentrated their searches last night in and around the town and along the local River Owenea.
