Investigations are continuing into the deaths of two Meath men who drowned at a Moroccan resort on Wednesday evening.
Mr Niall Sheridan and Mr Joseph Bartley died in what appeared to be a swimming accident in the holiday resort of Agadir on the west coast of Morocco.
Mr Sheridan was married and in his mid-50s from Athboy, while Mr Bartley was a 25-year-old single man from Ardbracken, Navan.
They were sales associates with the Galway-based life assurance and pensions company, Acorn Life, and had worked at the Moynalty branch, near Kells, Co Meath.
The men had been attending a sales convention organised by Acorn Life when the accident happened at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
About 150 people had been attending the convention in the north African country. The group was due to return home tomorrow.
A spokesman for Acorn Life described the accident as a tragedy. He said the company was trying to discover more details about the incident and was in touch with the police in Agadir and Ireland.
Two company directors were with the group and were liaising with head office to make arrangements to bring the bodies home, he said.
"At this very sad time, our thoughts and prayers are with the two men's families but we are not able to give any further details until all members of the family have been informed," he said.
The Government does not have an embassy in Agadir so the Irish embassy in Portugal is liaising with the British consulate in Agadir and relaying the information to the Department of Foreign Affairs here.
