United Nations - Iraq has asked the United Nations officially to replace its US and British staff in the country, citing anger from citizens after the US-British bombing raids. In a one-page memorandum to the UN, Baghdad said it could not guarantee the safety of personnel from those two nations and therefore the UN should make other arrangements. Iraq has also said it will refuse to recognise the outcome of a planned meeting of four Arab foreign ministers in Egypt to discuss the Iraq crisis.
