ARBIL – Seven Iraqi civilians were killed in an air strike by a Turkish warplane in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish north yesterday, a local mayor and an eyewitness said. A car was hit in which the civilians were travelling, Hassan Abdulla, mayor of Qalat Dizah, northeast of the city of Sulaimaniya, said.

Turkish war planes have targeted Kurdistan Workers Party rebels from last Wednesday night following increased attacks by the guerrilla forces in southeastern Turkey. – (Reuters)
