The body found on Lambay Island last week has been identified as missing Dublin woman Elizabeth Redmond.
Ms Redmond (52) was missing from her home in Artane since December 12th.
A spokesman for the gardaí said the body found on the island off north county Dublin on Thursday was positively identified through DNA analysis.
"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter," a spokesman said.
