Member of crew suffers breathing difficulties 100km off west coast of Ireland

A fisherman was airlifted to hospital from a Spanish-registered fishing vessel

approximately 100kms off the west coast last night.

Shortly after 9pm the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter responded to a request from the Briero which had reported that a member of its crew was suffering breathing difficulties.

The crewman was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for treatment.
