Cyclist killed in crash on M1 motorway in Swords

Gardaí appeal for any witnesses of incident on southbound carriageway of M1

A cyclist has died following a collision on the southbound carriageway of the M1 near Swords.

The 50-year-old man was taken to Beaumont Hospital by ambulance after he was struck between the Donabate and Swords junction at about 5pm yesterday evening. He was later pronounced dead and the coroner was notified.

The occupants of the car were not injured in the collision.

The motorway was closed following the incident but reopened a short time later.
