A number of transatlantic flights have been cancelled between Dublin and US cities because of bad weather on the east coast of the US.
Flight number EI108 from New York to Dublin has been cancelled as has Delta Airlines flight DL411 from Newark to Dublin.
United Airlines flight UA022 from Dublin to Newark has also been cancelled as has Aer Lingus flight EI105 from Dublin to New York, Delta Airlines flight DL091 from Dublin to New York and US Airways flight US 723from Dublin to Philadelphia.
Aer Lingus flight EI137 to Boston from Dublin has also been cancelled.
Intending passengers travelling from Shannon Airport to the US are asked to contact their airline.
Aer Lingus says affected passengers can rebook travel between Wednesday January 28th and Sunday, February 1st at no additional charge.
The US National Weather Service warned of a “life-threatening blizzard” that could dump as much as 30 inches (76 cm) of snow on parts of the region. It said winds could gust up to 55 mph (80 kph) around New York City.
With memories still fresh of Sandy, a superstorm that ravaged the East Coast in 2012, the governors of six East Coast states declared emergencies, and the snow blast threatened to affect up to 60 million people in nearly a dozen states.
